Emergency Care Centre at Hinchingbrooke Hospital

The ECC comprises the Emergency Department (ED) and the Acute Assessment Unit (AAU). We also host the Out of Hours Doctor Service which is provided by Herts Urgent Care (HUC).

The Emergency Department treats approximately 35,000 patients per year. ED has two resuscitation bays, eight majors cubicles, 8 minors cubicles (with two adapted for children), a plaster room and three GP OOHs rooms.

The Acute Assessment Unit sees approximately 600 patients per month and comprises 20 beds, including two side rooms and an Ambulatory Care bay.
