The Amazon Ward at Peterborough City Hospital celebrated Sport Relief this week by holding various activities for everyone to enjoy.
Amazon have previously raised awareness of Sport Relief, however this is the first year that the playteam have arranged for events to take place.
One of the main activities that happened over the week was a basketball competition to see how many baskets could be scored in one minute. A league table was created, Top Gear style, to show the scores of everyone who took part, which led to a healthy competitive streak throughout the ward!
Sally Leach, one of the Playteam Specialists said: “The basketball table was kindly donated to the ward and has become a great hit with the patients, families and staff as we work hard to make the children’s stay on the ward as happy as we can. It seemed the perfect opportunity to use it to raise funds for other families both in this country and abroad, via Sport Relief.”
