Volunteer speaking with a visitor

Peterborough City Hospital is holding a special information session on Friday 15 March, at 2pm-4pm in the Robert Horrell Macmillan Centre for those interested in joining its team of fantastic volunteers.

People from all walks of life are invited to come along to meet staff and volunteers and find out how they can support their local hospital.

Barry Pridmore, Volunteers Manager at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Peterborough City Hospital, said: “Our volunteers play an invaluable part in supporting our patients and visitors, by giving up their own time to enhance the patient experience and support positive clinical outcomes.

“There are a variety of opportunities available and volunteers undertake a range of tasks, including helping patients find their way to departments, helping patients during mealtimes, serving refreshments, offering a befriending service, supporting the chaplaincy team during services and much more.

“If you are interested in joining our volunteers, please come along to the session. There is no need to book, just drop in.”
