Staff at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust have launched a brand new Christmas campaign ‘December Magic.’ As part of this campaign the Trust is helping spread some festive cheer to elderly patients who will spend the day as an inpatient at one of our three hospital sites over the Christmas period.
The ‘Be Santa to a Senior’ campaign will ensure all of our elderly patients receive a special gift from Santa to unwrap on Christmas day.
Jo Bennis, Chief Nurse at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust said: “We know that for some patients, Christmas can be a particularly lonely time, especially if they do not have any visitors or family nearby to visit them in hospital. With our ‘Be Santa to a Senior’ campaign, we hope to brighten their day with a gift and ensure they still enjoy Christmas, despite being in hospital.”
To help bring a smile to our patients, the hospital is asking local communities across Peterborough and the surrounding area for their support by making a donation to the cause.
“No matter how big or small a gift may be it can go a long way to making Christmas special for the elderly,” says Jo. “Previously, we’ve had so many fantastic donations for our Love from Lapland campaign from companies and members of the public, and would love to make this year’s campaign just as successful. You can either make a donation via our MyDonate page or by donating an unwrapped gift from our Amazon wishlist.”
All items cost £10 or less and any presents ordered directly from the wishlist will be delivered straight to the Trust. If you do purchase a present yourself you can drop it off at the main reception desk at Peterborough City, Stamford or Hinchingbrooke Hospital.
