Mr Abdullah, Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at Peterborough City Hospital, was pleased to see his patient Angela Cowling back in the Breast Unit. This time she returned not for treatment but to bring a cheque to the Unit as a thank you for the superb care she received there. On recovery from her radiotherapy for Angela raised £1500 by running the Great Eastern Fun Run for the Breast Cancer and Radiotherapy teams.
Angela, from Peterborough, said: “I was fortunate to have Mr Abdullah as my Consultant and Claire Snowden as my Breast Cancer Nurse. I can honestly say the care and attention received was second to none and I could not have been in better hands.”
After her diagnosis and surgery, Angela was referred to Dr Datta, Clinical Oncologist at the hospital.
“Dr Datta and everyone in the Radiotherapy Team were so professional, and so nice and friendly that I actually looked forward to going in every day to meet such lovely people.”
Mr Abdullah said “It means so much to us that patients raise money for the unit, it’s a big morale boost, and we’re very grateful.”
This donation will be used to benefit future patients by updating methods used in the Breast Unit.
