The endoscopy department at Peterborough City Hospital has recently received reaccreditation from the Joint Advisory Group (JAG). JAG sets the national standards for competence and quality and is an absolute requirement for the undertaking of bowel cancer screening.
The ongoing process is based on data submitted and a site visit from inspectors which covers all areas; clinical quality, patient experience, workforce and training.
Dr Callum Gardener, Divisional Director of Emergency and Medicine, said: “JAG reaccreditation will enable the department to continue to maintain high clinical standards.
“I would like to congratulate all members of the endoscopy team for their hard work and success; they have demonstrated passion, commitment and enthusiasm during the reaccreditation process.”
