Peterborough City Hospital’s Outpatients booking team has raised £268 for Peterborough Soup Kitchen. The team organised a week of festive activities culminating with some of the team volunteering at the kitchen on Friday 21 December.
The team raised money by holding a Christmas week which included a tombola, quiz, festive jumper day, games day and raffle. They also sold bags of treats to staff.
Gemma Whittaker, Kirsty Hewitt, Sarah Allen, Haydn Barry from the team spent a shift at Peterborough Soup Kitchen on Friday evening where they handed out food and drinks to the people who needed them.
Gemma and Kirsty said: “Christmas is a special time of year; we wanted to give back to our local community and make sure that people in need could benefit from a hot meal and drinks. We are grateful to all departments for their enthusiasm and generosity and the outpatients management team for supporting us during this week.”
