Local family give Rheumatology unit a boost

Rheumatology donation

A family from Sleaford, held a fundraising ball in aid of Arthritis Research for the third year running.  The ‘You Only Live Once’ ball was held n Ancaster and raised over £4,000!

Katie Brockington is a patient under the care of the rheumatology department at Peterborough City Hospital and together with her cousin Lucy Creedon, who also suffers from the disease they organised the event with support from other family members including Jackie Creedon, Katie O’Halloran and Suzanne Creedon.

The family chose to split the money raised between Arthritis Research and Peterborough City Hospital to support the departments fundraising for an ultrasound scanner.

Anita Altham, Rheumatology Nurse Specialist, said: “On behalf of the team, I would like to say a huge thank you to Katie and her family. We are very grateful for their fundraising efforts and generous donation. A new ultrasound scanner will make such a huge difference to all our patients and we are hoping to be in a position to be able to purchase the equipment in the near future.”
