The Maternity Units at Peterborough City and Hinchingbrooke Hospital rang in the New Year with the birth of an impressive fourteen babies on New Year’s Day!
This included a total of nine babies at Peterborough City Hospital, including one set of twins, and five babies at Hinchingbrooke.
Twins Charlie and Holly were the first to arrive at Peterborough City Hospital coming into the world at 3.01am and 3.03am, followed by Kairo Kerr born at 4.41am. The maternity team at Hinchingbrooke welcomed Martha Grace Handy at 2.53am.
Rowena Chilton, Deputy Head of Midwifery for North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust said: “Welcoming the first baby of the year is always special. Staff on the units decorate one of the cots and buy the baby an outfit, blanket and teddy for special occasions such as New Year. We send our congratulations to all of the families who had babies born on the 1 January.”
