Staff in the Woodlands Centre, which provides cancer care at Hinchingbrooke Hospital, were delighted to receive a cheque for £2,250 from local solicitors, Leeds Day.
Claire Clark from Leeds Day, said: "We held activities for staff, including a quiz, raffle and regular Dress Down Fridays. Some of the staff even chose not to send Christmas cards and instead donated the money they would have spent.
"The staff nominate organisations to be their chosen charity and the Woodlands Centre was nominated by a staff member who had a family connection with the centre".
A committee made up of staff from the company’s Cambridgeshire offices met regularly, outside of working hours, to agree fundraising ideas to involve their colleagues.
Lynda Hall, Lead Cancer Nurse, said: “The staff in the Woodlands centre at Hinchingbrooke hospital would like to say a huge thank you to Leeds Day solicitors for their generous donation of £2,250.
“We appreciate that raising funds of this amount takes hard work and we are very grateful that they chose to donate to the Woodlands.
“Large donations like this enable us to make a difference to patient care by either buying specialist equipment, or by improving the environment where patients are treated”.
