The Obstetrics and Gynaecology team at Peterborough City Hospital has been highly commended by Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists for the experience it provides to trainees.
The accolade was awarded by the Specialty Education Advisory Committee of the Royal College, based on feedback from trainees undertaking gynaecology training at Peterborough City Hospital.
Our team at PCH was ranked among the top 10 performing NHS Trusts out of 140 units in the country for gynaecology training. In addition the team was also highly commended for its overall performance as a training centre.
Mr Amir Sriemevan, Consultant and College Tutor for the department, said: “Our team of consultants, midwives, nurses, secretaries and support staff have pulled together to ensure that trainees have the best possible experience during their time with us. It is fantastic news that our trainees have consistently been so positive on how they benefit from this experience.
“We are keen to ensure trainees can work in a supportive environment, have access to educational resources and are well supervised during their time with us. Our time invested in them is clearly well spent.”
Dr Kanchan Rege, Medical Director, said: “Congratulations to the team on this achievement. It is a testament to their hard work and passion and is well deserved."
