Peterborough United players, Jack Baldwin, Junior Morias and Conor O’Malley, along with their very own Easter bunny Peter Burrow visited Amazon Ward at Peterborough City Hospital to deliver Easter Eggs to the young patients.
The Eggs were donated by Steve Coulson, Operations Manager, and the team at Serpentine Green Shopping Centre, based in Hampton. Chocolates were also donated by Marks and Spencer from their new branch at Serpentine Green.
The three players and Peter Burrow were taken around the ward meeting the children and their families before handing out the eggs, taking pictures and giving away signed match programmes.
Zoe Wilkinson, Play Service Co-Ordinator said: “It’s always lovely to see the POSH players come to Amazon and the children love it. There’s always a buzz of excitement and the fact that the players spend time with each child is amazing. We would like to thank staff at Serpentine Green Shopping Centre for their generous donation.”
Captain Jack Baldwin said; “It’s never nice for kids or anyone to be in hospital, so for us to come in and distribute some Easter Eggs and bring a little bit of joy to their day really means a lot to us and plus the kids get to meet Peter Burrow. It’s all about giving back to the community which is an important part of what the football club does.”
