The Executive Team at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust has raised the rainbow flag in the atrium at Peterborough City Hospital to mark Peterborough Pride Week.

Peterborough Pride is a city-wide celebration running from 28 June until 5 July and coincides with the international Pride Month. The week will provide a platform to celebrate the LGBT+ community and raise awareness of issues that the community face.

According to research by Stonewall, one in seven LGBT people avoid seeking healthcare for fear of discrimination from staff. Our Trust is committed to ensuring that all patients who use our services know that they can expect to be treated with respect and dignity.

The Trust is also dedicated to ensuring that we have a culture where our staff and visitors feel valued and included.

Chief Executive Caroline Walker said, “We are proud to be supporting Peterborough’s Pride Week. As a healthcare provider we are in a key position to ensure that we care for our entire community, so it’s important to us that anyone who passes through our doors feels valued and respected.”
