Stamford Hospital has launched an appeal to help stop local families going hungry this winter, as part of the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust’s Christmas campaign ‘December Magic’.
The hospital is asking staff, patients and visitors to donate non-perishable food items for individuals and families using the Stamford and Oundle Foodbank this festive season.
Sue Brooks, Matron and Site Manager, said: “Sadly, not everyone will have the means to enjoy regular meals, let alone a traditional Christmas dinner. We are aiming to fill 60 hampers with staple foods that will ensure people can enjoy a cooked meal, along with a few festive treats.
“It isn’t just food items that people need, but also basic necessities such as toothbrushes, shower gel etc. We are asking that all donations are dropped off at main reception Friday 30 November at the latest, ready for our army of volunteers to make up the hampers and drop them off at the foodbank.”
