Mike Ellwood has been appointed as a non-executive director to the board of Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Mr Ellwood, who is married with two sons aged 18 and 19, is Head of Corporate and Commercial Banking at Santander UK Plc. He has more than 30 years’ experience in corporate banking and in particular specialises in merger and acquisition work.
Trust chairman Rob Hughes, welcomed Mr Ellwood to the Trust. He said: “Our board is looking forward to working with Mike at what is a significant time in our local health system. There is a lot of work taking place to become more efficient in our delivery of care and to safeguard services for the future. Mike’s expertise will be very useful as we move towards new ways of working.”
The Trust’s lead governor, Mark Bush, added: “The Council of Governors would like to welcome Mike to his role. We look forward to working with him and benefiting from his experience in the finance sector.”
Mr Ellwood replaces Ken Beeton, who stepped down in May after completing four years with the Trust.
