I love working in transfusion because it’s such a meaningful way to help people. Every unit of blood gives someone hope and a chance for a better tomorrow. Being able to make that kind of difference is really special to me and is a constant reminder that helping others is the greatest gift we can give. - Tiago Marujo

I have worked in Microbiology for nearly 21 years and I can still say I love my job. No two days are ever the same. Knowing that I can guide the doctors with the correct  treatment for a  patient and ensuring the patient gets better as quickly as possible makes my job rewarding. - Tracey Shelton

Harry working in pathology

Being a biomedical scientist means being part of an amazing team that makes critical healthcare decisions possible. In the lab we often work behind the scenes, but the outcome has a huge impact that is felt through every diagnosis and treatment plan that helps save lives. It is incredibly rewarding to know that our work shapes the lives of patients in a positive and meaningful way. - Harry Gensiorskyj

Laura working within pathology

I enjoy the job for the variety, no day (or night) shift is the same! With a large amount of patient diagnosis’ being made as a result of the work of pathology, it’s a fundamental way of being part of the patients care, without actively being patient facing. This contributes towards a meaningful career, with continuous opportunities to learn and develop along the way’  - Laura Setchfield
