The cleaning of our hospitals is an absolutely vital service – and one that we rely upon to be done expertly and thoroughly to keep germs and viruses away. During the pandemic keeping our hospitals clean has been subject to even greater scrutiny and planning to help keep patients and staff safe.
Our cleaning services are carried out by our service provider partners. Medirest staff are responsible for cleaning at Peterborough City Hospital, while staff at Mitie look after Hinchingbrooke and Stamford & Rutland Hospitals.
As well as routine cleaning of wards, departments and public areas throughout out hospitals, our army of cleaning staff respond to specific cleaning requests. This can range from a patient bed area clean in readiness for a new patient being admitted to a ward, to a very specific deep clean exercise using a special ultra-violet light.
Mandy Richardson, Soft FM Manager for the Trust said: “The Domestic teams on all sites have been instrumental throughout the pandemic, responding to very challenging circumstances and have provided dedication and support 24/7.”
Thank you to all our cleaning staff for keeping us safe, clean and tidy – our staff would not be able to do care for patients without this vital service.
