We benefit from the generosity of a dedicated team of over 500 volunteers, who help to deliver an exceptional patient experience across all three of our hospitals. 

Every day our volunteers provide practical and emotional support for our patients, staff and visitors. As well as bring a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience to the Trust.

Volunteering opportunities will enable you to:

  • Help others

  • Give something back

  • Learn new skills

  • Make new friends

  • Improve employment prospects

  • Increase in confidence

  • Be involved in the local community  

Volunteers need to be:

  • 18 years old or over (16 or 17 for some specific roles)

  • Committed to volunteering regularly, approximately 3-4 hours every week 

  • Reliable and dependable

As part of our commitment to safety volunteers need to:

  • Complete a DBS check
  • Complete an Occupational Health Check
  • Provide 2 suitable references 
  • Attend a  'Volunteer induction' 

 

Once this has all been completed you may be invited to attend any training linked to your specific role and then offered a start date to begin your volunteering.
