The Children’s Outpatients Department provides a range of child and family service, including general paediatric clinics and rapid access clinics.

Specialist clinics run by our paediatricians are held for: 

• Asthma and respiratory medicine
• Cardiology
• Diabetes
• Growth and endocrinology
• Epilepsy
• Neurology
• Newborn and premature infants
• Renal
• Gastroenterology
• Allergy

Joint clinics are also held with specialists for: 

• Cardiology, Specialist from Great Ormond Street Hospital
• Diabetes in Adolescents, Specialist from Adult Diabetes Team
• Neurology, Specialist form Addenbrookes Hospital
• Renal, Specialist from Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham
• Endocrine
• Coeliac

Visiting Consultants clinics:

• Urology, Specialist from Addenbrooke's Hospital
• Genetics
• Community Paediatrician for children with complex needs
• Safeguarding

Other clinics on site include:

• Physiotherapy
• Phlebotomy for patients under 6 years old and those with special needs

Our staff

The service is staffed by a team of experienced registered sick children’s nurses who are supported by a number of health-care support workers.  There is a specialist hospital play team. The medical team is led by an experienced group of Consultant Paediatricians who have diverse skills and expertise.
