With some 38 years NHS experience to her credit, Linda Woodcock joined the Greenwood Day Treatment Unit team at Stamford & Rutland Hospital almost six months ago. As ward clerk (a role she shares with colleague Carole), Linda says she loves the feeling of making a difference. She is often the first friendly face and in-person point of contact for patients attending their appointment. Linda is responsible for checking patient details on arrival, but behind the scenes she prepares and the packs of notes for the nurses and clinicans. “Every detail has to be correct,” says Linda – who also makes changes to clinic lists to ensure nursing staff and patients are keep up to date on a daily basis. When the notes come back from clinic, she then validates them and returns them to medical records – fulfilling an important role at the start and end of the process. “I love working in this team – they are a great bunch. I do feel like I am making a difference and I always try to treat people how I would like to be treated.”
