I work as a ward clerk and recently appointed as ward managers assistant in MAU. My job role is to perform administrative duties to support the work for different multi-disciplinary teams and patients. As a ward clerk we are the first face of contact to receive patients or visitors.
My apprenticeship course has helped me to develop my skills to working out things out my own as well as in a team. It helped me to know about the organization policies and procedures more clearly and had definitely helped me to improve to deliver patient overall satisfaction.
I feel really privileged to work in admin role as it has taught me that the smallest things can make the big difference to people. I must give a special thanks to my ward manager Emma Johnston who encouraged me to pursue and enrol in this course, and my assessor Claire Rippin who is the kindest person and who really supports me with my course.
