We've seen the BAFTAS and the MET GALA - and now plans are well underway to roll out the red (actually, blue) carpet for health heroes, volunteers and staff from our local hospitals.
Against the stunning backdrop of Peterborough Cathedral, North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust will be celebrating colleagues from Peterborough, Hinchingbrooke and Stamford & Rutland hospitals in the Outstanding Achievement Awards 2026.
The annual event takes place this summer and will honour staff and volunteers for their dedication and going the extra mile for patients, their families and fellow colleagues.
Winners will be celebrated in categories including; Team of the Year, Lifetime Contribution to Healthcare, Outstanding Individual of the Year and Volunteer of the Year - as well as the publicly-nominated Health Hero Award.
Awards will be presented to individuals and teams who have developed and delivered service improvements across the Trust, help to deliver community-based healthcare initiatives, and others recognised for their care, compassion and contribution to healthcare.
The Trust is currently finalising details of the ceremony - which will again be hosted by BBC Radio Cambridgeshire presenter Chris Mann - and is working with a number of sponsors whose generous support will meet the cost of the evening.
Around 300 members of staff and guests attended last year's awards, and a similar number is expected at Peterborough Cathedral on July 16.
Trust Chief Executive Officer, Hannah Coffey, said: “I'm incredibly proud of our outstanding staff. The quality of the nominations across a wide variety of categories has once again been truly remarkable and this event is a fantastic platform at which to celebrate such great achievements.”
