Preparing to put their best feet forward - all 38 of them - for Cancer Research UK are staff from the Acute Assessment Unit at Hinchingbrooke Hospital, Huntingdon.
The 19 nurses, healthcare assistants, housekeepers and ward clerks are taking part in CRUK's 5km Race for Life in Cambridge on 21 June.
And the support from colleagues, family and friends has been so overwhelming, that the team smashed its £1,000 target less than a week into fundraising - and is now on course for a new total of £2,500.
North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust nursing associate, Amna Bouzaida said: “As a team, many of us have experienced how cancer has impacted us personally and professionally within our job roles.
"We have decided to take part in the race for life fun run to help spread awareness of this disease and help progress research.
“We would like to thank everyone who has supported us so far.”
Staff taking part in the Race For Life have a mix of running interests and ability, but plan to complete the event as a team.
Many of them have been touched by cancer - through the diagnosis of many friends and family - from young children to parents and grandparents.
Amna added: “A lot of our staff enjoy running in their free time and others have taken part in marathons.
"However, for our team, all that matters is the taking part for such a great cause whether that's walking, running or jogging.”
And helping to boost the donations is AAU deputy sister Rodevee Sapucay, who has used her spare time to create hundreds of pin badges in different designs which are being sold for £1 to staff and other supporters.
