As Stamford’s new Day Treatment Unit inches closer to a summer completion, hospital executives have received a progress tour of the facility.
A group of North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust’s Executive Directors and Non-Executive Directors toured the state-of-the-art centre at Stamford & Rutland Hospital this week.
As work continues inside the facility, the exterior continues to take shape – with focal points including the new cladding, canopy to the main entrance and the main entrance / reception area itself.
The facility - which stands on the site of the former nurses’ home - will further enhance patient care for the local community.
It will provide day case procedures in three specially equipped rooms, and house three standard-sized cabin-style changing rooms with ensuite facilities, plus six recovery bays.
The Unit – which will replaced the current Greenwood Day Treatment Unit - is expected to be completed and handed over to the Trust this summer by lead contractor Darwin Group, when it will be ready to accept its first patients.
