As Volunteers' Week 2026, comes to an end staff at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust would like to say a huge thank you to their incredible volunteers.
Collectively the Trust has 430 volunteers across 54 different roles, each bringing energy, kindness and compassion to everything they do. Every hour given helps make a real difference to patients, visitors, and staff across Peterborough City, Hinchingbrooke, and Stamford Hospitals.
From supporting wards to enhancing the smooth running of services, the volunteers are valued every day. Over the past year alone, their impact has been extraordinary:
To bring these figures to life, in the last 12 months the 'stores' volunteers alone have walked the distance of nearly five times the length of the UK! Tori Fergusson, Head of Volunteering at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust commented: “These remarkable contributions happen quietly every day, improving patient experience and supporting staff to deliver the best possible care.
“During Volunteers Week, we were also delighted to host a series of thank you events, giving volunteers the chance to come together, chat and celebrate their achievements - kindly funded by the Volunteer Charity Fund.
“Every moment given and every act of kindness shown is deeply appreciated. Our volunteers do so much more than give their time - they bring warmth and reassurance to our hospitals. Thank you to each and every one of our amazing volunteers.”
