Search is on to appoint Public Governors at your local hospital

People with a passion for supporting their local healthcare services are invited to put themselves forward for election to one of ten public governor posts available at the Trust that runs Peterborough City, Hinchingbrooke and Stamford and Rutland Hospitals.

North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust is seeking five Public Governors to represent patients and the community in Greater Peterborough, four Public Governors to be the voice of patients and the public in Huntingdonshire and one Public Governor to represent the patients and people of Stamford and South Lincolnshire.

Prospective Governors must be members of North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust and live in the constituency area they want to represent.

The elections will run from Thursday 28 August 2025, with results being declared on Thursday 18 September 2025.

Professor Steve Barnett OBE, Chair of North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Our Governors play an important part in the running of our hospitals – from observing committee meetings to supporting ward audits – and we are grateful for their support. I am confident that there will be no shortage of local people who want to play their part in influencing how their local hospital serves its community.”

If you are interested in the role, don’t delay – as the nominations deadline is 5pm on Thursday 7 August 2025. You can find out more by contacting Paul Denton, Associate Director of Governance and Risk, for an informal chat. Email: paul.denton2@nhs.net .
