A radiography leader has been inaugurated as President of the Society and College of Radiographers (SoR), one of the profession's highest honours.
Rachel Nolan, Assistant Imaging Services and Professional Lead at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust recently became the 89th President of the Society and College of Radiographers when members of the SoR and the wider healthcare community recently came together at the Cambridge Museum of Zoology to celebrate her inauguration.
Rachel has dedicated more than 30 years to the radiography profession, building a career spanning clinical practice, leadership and service improvement. Throughout her career, she has been passionate about delivering high quality patient care and supporting the development of colleagues across the profession.
As President, Rachel will represent radiographers across the UK and help champion the profession at a time of significant change and opportunity within healthcare.
Speaking about her appointment, Rachel said: “I feel immensely proud to take on this role. Radiography is a fantastic profession, and I am passionate about supporting both patients and colleagues. I am looking forward to working with radiographers across the country and helping to promote the vital contribution they make to healthcare every day.”
Rachel is widely recognised for her commitment to inclusive, compassionate and respectful care, placing patients at the heart of everything she does. She is also a strong advocate for mentoring, teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration, helping to support and develop the next generation of healthcare professionals.
