National maternity reports - message from our Chief Executive

Following the national publication of the Baroness Amos Maternity and Neonatal Investigation and the Ockenden Report into services at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, we appreciate that this will be a worrying and upsetting read for many families.

Although these reports do not relate to services at our Trust, we, alongside our Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership (MNVP), want to acknowledge the emotional impact they may have. We recognise the distressing experiences described, including examples of inequality and inequity in care that have resulted in significant harm for families.

Your maternity and neonatal care

These reports contain the voices of many families across England who have spoken up to ensure that their experiences are recognised and support meaningful improvements in maternity and neonatal care for everyone.  Reading about these experiences may create uncertainty, frustration, or painful memories for you. If you have any concerns, at all, about your maternity or neonatal care, please do not hesitate to contact your midwife or our Maternity Helpline on 01733 677266 and we can advise and support you.
