Our monthly Star Awards celebrate an outstanding individual and team from across the Trust each month, celebrating members of Team North West Anglia who exhibit outstanding qualities that align with our Trust values. Nominations for our monthly Star Awards come from staff, who nominate colleagues and teams who they feel have gone above and beyond in their role.
We are delighted to announce that Krzysztof, a dedicated porter who works with our Peterborough City Hospital Diagnostic Imaging Team, has won May's North Individual Star Award — which celebrates our amazing staff members who go above and beyond in their roles!
His nomination said: "Krzysztof is vital to the timely running of our inpatient services and his enthusiasm and sunshine personality rubs off on everybody! He has a smile on his face everyday, regardless of the time of day, the workload or his own circumstances. He goes above and beyond for every patient, ensuring they feel comfortable, protecting their dignity when transferring them and chatting away putting them at ease." His dedication to outstanding patient care remains strong, even after many years of service.
His nomination mentioned a recent example which encapsulates who Krzysztof is, and the kind of thing he does every day to go the extra mile in supporting our patients: after transferring somebody for a CT scan, Krzysztof overheard them express difficulty sleeping due to noise in her ward. While the patient was undergoing her scan, Krzysztof sourced earplugs from another department to help ensure they could get a more restful night's sleep during their hospital stay.
We really appreciate Krzysztof's efforts, and all he does to go out of his way to treat people with care!
Congratulations Krzysztof, on winning this well-deserved award, and thank you for your fantastic service!
