Our monthly Star Awards celebrate an outstanding individual and team from across the Trust each month, celebrating members of Team North West Anglia who exhibit outstanding qualities that align with our Trust values. Nominations for our monthly Star Awards come from staff, who nominate colleagues and teams who they feel have gone above and beyond in their role.
We would like to say a huge well done to Bindu George, who is the winner of July's Individual of the Month Star Award. Bindu is Ward Manager on B12 at Peterborough City Hospital and was nominated by two members of her staff separately, both citing Bindu's incredible leadership skills.
Bindu has led her Ward to achieve a silver Ward Accreditation assessment, taking them on a journey of improvement from being under supervision, to achieving this award. Both Aruna and Nancy, her nominators speak about the positive changes Bindu has implemented to achieve a silver Ward Accreditation.
"I feel so much different in a positive way now. She is very approachable and always ready to help staffs and patients equally. Under her leadership and guidance, I experience management is on a right place and getting better more and more every day."
Too much change straight away can be daunting and overwhelming, Bindu took it upon her self to prioritise changes and implement them intermittently, so that they could be understood and embedded into the daily routine on B12.
"She has got the ward out of special measures and through her hard work and dedication to change she has ensured the ward achieved silver at our recent Ward Accreditation assessment, which she was extremely proud of and arranged a team day to celebrate. She is trying to bring a sense of teamwork and change to a ward that has been very set in its ways and reluctant to embrace change."
Well done Bindu, a thoroughly deserved star!
