Meet your July Star Award, Team of the Month.... the Rainforest Healthcare Assistant Phlebotomy Team! The team were picked for the award following a strong month of nominations, but beat other nominations to the award because of their fantastic work supporting an increasing list of paediatric patients. 

The team provide the only phlebotomy service for paediatrics aged 0-12 years in Peterborough and the surrounding areas and their excellent reputation is known far and wide, with many parents now living out of area still asking if they can come back to Rainforest for their child's blood test. This amazing team consistently score high in the Friends and Family feedback and go above and beyond to make sure all children have a positive experience when having their blood taken, something that can be very daunting!

At the start of last year, the team were seeing on average 500 children each month in the phlebotomy clinic, that number is now averaging at 700 patients with more and more patients coming out of Consultant clinics on the day also requiring a blood test, which the team fit into their already oversubscribed clinic so that the children don't have to miss more time off school by coming back on another day.

As well as delivering direct patient care, the team also do all the phlebotomy bookings, taking 60+ calls a day from parents booking their child in for a blood test. The Rainforest phlebotomy clinic is an extremely efficient service with an incredibly dedicated team. Well done on winning your award!
