Our monthly Star Awards celebrate an outstanding individual and team from across the Trust each month, celebrating members of Team North West Anglia who exhibit outstanding qualities that align with our Trust values. Nominations for our monthly Star Awards come from staff, who nominate colleagues and teams who they feel have gone above and beyond in their role.
Our Team of the Month for June is a little bit different to our usual winners, as the award was presented to Gemma Bryant, Discharge Team Lead, Emma Buff, Transformation Programme Manager and Vicki Freemantle, IT Project Manager for their partnership work, across departments to bring OPTICA live at the Trust.
OPTICA is a discharge planning system that can integrate information across the ICS to allow for better sight and planning for complex patient discharge with a view to reducing length of stay. This system was required to be introduced by NHSE due to the many benefits it can bring. The platform was installed and integrated to key systems including eTrack and Careflow successfully with the system going live on 17 June. The Trust is only the second in the country to use real time integration for this system and helped the developers to improve the data agent.
The team's nominator, Silvy Ellis, explains how the team have played a vital role in rolling out this new system.
"These three individuals have done a remarkable job bringing OPTICA to go live for NWAngliaFT in June. They have worked tirelessly with system partners and learnt so much new IT language to all ultimately better patients the journey."
Well done to Gemma, Emma and Vicki for being our June Star Award, Team of the Month!
