International Day of the Midwife

Sunday 5 May 2024 is International Day of the Midwife – an opportunity to celebrate the fantastic work of our team of midwives, as well as say thank you for their dedication to their roles across Peterborough City and Hinchingbrooke Hospitals, and our local communities.

This year’s theme is around Midwives working together for climate change and is at the centre of the COP28 (UN Climate Change Conference) strategy to improve the health and status of those using maternity services across the globe. Our midwives are always aiming to work smarter, be ‘more green’ and to improve the use of sustainable birthing solutions in the future.

Watch some personal messages of thanks from our CEO Hannah Coffey, Chief Nurse Jo Bennis and Head of Midwifery Nicky Griffin below.
