The specialist team running the CT Colonography service at Peterborough City Hospital has been recognised for the excellent service they provide by the National CT Colonography Academy.
Their dedication to high quality patient care, fostering a strong culture of teamwork and specialist training has resulted in the team being awarded Centre of Excellence status.
There are just 11 Centres of Excellence recognised by the National CT Colonography Academy in the UK. These centres provide exemplary training and advice to Radiographers and Radiologists specialising in CT Colonography.
The Peterborough City Hospital team members were recently presented with an official plaque from Liam Gale, Director for National Standards, at the National CT Colonography Academy.
Andy Wilkinson, who leads the CT Colonography Service, said: “This is a fantastic accolade for our team, our patients and the wider Hospitals Trust. It represents many years of hard work and commitment by team members past and present to get to this point.
“Over the years our service has expanded, and we have been determined to keep our commitment to quality as high as possible. I am pleased to report that the service consistently exceeds aspirational targets for performance and reporting accuracy set by national professional bodies and advisory groups.
“I’d like to thank all the team and our colleagues in the wider diagnostic imaging department for their support. This is a fantastic accolade, and we will display the plaque with pride.”
