Trust welcomes preceptee midwives

Please give a warm welcome to the 21 new preceptee midwives who have just joined the Trust. They were presented with welcome gift bags after starting recently.

Preceptorship is a period of structured support for newly registered midwives. The main aim is to welcome and integrate the newly registered midwife into their new team and place of work.

"The preceptees will work across site with the support of a newly recruited retention midwife to support them, Sam Hubbard, along with the Education Team and the whole of Maternity across Peterborough and Hinchingbrooke" says Gemma Taylor, Interim Deputy Head of Midwifery. "Being supported helps to improve retention, ensuring a great start to their career. It also provides a smooth transition from student to qualified midwife, whilst embedding their knowledge into everyday practice."

We wish all of them a fantastic start to their careers!
