Update: Gas and air

18.01.2024

Update on the suspension of gas and air at Peterborough City and Hinchingbrooke Hospital Maternity Units

We are really pleased to inform you that we have been able to safely reintroduce gas and air to our maternity units at Peterborough City and Hinchingbrooke Hospital.

Peterborough City Hospital has introduced mobile Scavenger Units to the delivery suite which extract Entonox (gas and air) after it is exhaled, allowing us to stay within safe environmental Entonox levels.

At Hinchingbrooke Hospital several rooms have gas and air available.

We would like to say a huge thank you for your continued patience while we worked on safely reintroducing gas and air to our maternity units.  We appreciate this has been an anxious and unsettling time for our staff, women and birthing people.  The experience of our women and birthing people, and the safety of our staff remains our priority.
