Voting under way to appoint new governors at hospitals trust

Voting is under way among members of North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust to appoint new Governors to represent patients and the public in Huntingdonshire and South Lincolnshire.

Local residents of Huntingdon and Stamford who have signed up to be members of North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust are eligible to vote for their preferred public governors for Hinchingbrooke Hospital and Stamford and Rutland Hospital either online or in the post.

The deadline for voting is 5pm on 17 September 2025 with results being declared on Thursday 18 September 2025.

Professor Steve Barnett OBE, Chair of North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, said: “The role of a Governor is a vital one in the running of NHS hospitals to enable good connections between hospital services and the communities it serves.

“Our Governors play an important part in the running of our hospitals – from observing committee meetings to supporting ward audits – and we are grateful for their support. If any members have not already voted I would ask them to do so as every vote counts.”

·         The Trust’s Council of Governors is made up of representatives from the general public, Trust staff and representatives of other health and social care partners. The Council of Governors works with the Trust Board of Directors to ensure our hospitals are run appropriately for the needs of the communities they serve.
