World Sepsis Day

World Sepsis Day (Friday 13 September 2024) is a Global Day of Awareness of the impact and symptoms of Sepsis.

Sepsis is a life-threatening condition where the body’s response to an infection is to attack its own tissues and organs. Sepsis always starts with an infection, including chest infections and UTIs.

Whilst Sepsis is indiscriminate, there are groups of people who may be at a higher risk, such as those with underlying health conditions, the very young or older adults. Sepsis is indiscriminate and there is no there is no single sign or diagnostic test for it, which is why spotting and recognising the signs of Sepsis and catching it early is vital.

If there are any symptoms of Sepsis presenting; Just Ask: Could it be Sepsis?
