About Diagnostic Imaging

We carry out a broad range of imaging services across our hospitals to inpatients, outpatients and Emergency Department patients as well as patients who are referred by their GP.

Over 294 staff work as part of our wider team (Radiologists, Radiographers, Assistants, Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Practitioners, Administration and Secretarial staff).

During the last financial year, (1 April 2022 – 31 March 2023) we delivered 433,000 examinations delivered across all of our hospital sites. This was comprised of:

  • 56,042 CT examinations.
  • 31,101 MRI examinations.
  • 214,239 X-ray examinations.
  • 49,270 General Ultrasound examinations.
  • 35,945 Obstetrics Ultrasound examinations.
