The Quality Standard for Imaging (QSI) & United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS)

Peterborough City Hospital, Stamford and Rutland Hospital and the City Care Centre (Peterborough) have undertaken the nationally recognised Imaging Services Accreditation Scheme (ISAS) since 2012. It is now known as the Quality Standard for Imaging (QSI) 2021, developed by The Royal College of Radiologists and the College of Radiographers.

The QSI provides a framework for the NHS to set out the criteria that defines a quality imaging service delivered by competent staff working in safe environments.

Accreditation to standards is supported by NHS England and recognised by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) is an independent body recognised by UK Government which assess imaging services to ensure that the standard's requirements are maintained through regular monitoring.

UKAS accredits to a recognised standard and this provides a framework for the NHS and private sector to provide consistently high quality services, giving stakeholders, service users, patients and their carers, confidence in all aspects of their care.

The Diagnostic Imaging at Peterborough City Hospital, Stamford and Rutland Hospital and the City Care Centre received accreditation by UKAS in December 2013 and through yearly monitoring have continued to maintain their accreditation.

In addition, the Diagnostic Imaging departments at Hinchingbrooke Hospital, Ely and Doddington achieved the accreditation in 2024.

This means that all six North West Anglia Diagnostic Imaging departments are accredited by UKAS.
